Clouds That Covered the Sun
The Clouds That Covered The Sun is the first full-length album of original songs and instrumentals released by Daniel Villar. All lyrics and music were written and performed by Daniel Villar. Daniel Villar is an accomplished singer, pianist, and songwriter in the Washington, DC metropolitan area. He has enjoyed teaching private voice and piano lessons to children and adults in the Metropolitan DC area since 1999. Daniel also works as a teacher, musical director and composer for theater companies such as ArtStream and Imagination Stage. Specializing in a variety of musical genres, Daniel has been performing as a singer and pianist at private parties and public events in Maryland, Virginia, and Washington, DC since 1995. He has entertained in a variety of venues including private residences, country clubs, church halls, and piano bars. Daniel holds a Bachelor of Music degree in Vocal Performance from the University of Maryland - College Park. He has also taken classes in performance, songwriting, arranging and music theory at the Berklee College of Music in Boston, MA. Daniel's most recent project, of which he is very proud, is Knights of Glory. Knights of Glory is a musical theatre piece designed to help children cope with the grief over an illness, or the grief over the loss of a loved one. The book and lyrics were written by Sally Kinka, and the music was written by Daniel Villar. On November 2, 2008, Knights of Glory debuted at the Children's Inn at NIH. The show is currently being produced by ArtStream, and is already scheduled for more performances at several children's hospitals and grief counseling programs in Washington, DC. Daniel hopes to produce an original cast recording of Knights of Glory in the near future.
