Born in San Francisco and currently residing in Napa, California, David Cortopassi has recorded for major labels including Atlantic, EMI, KAPP, and Universal. Early in his career his bands shared stages with Doobie Brothers, Santana, Grateful Dead, Bo Diddley, Jefferson Airplane, Tower of Power, Cold Blood, Bill Medley, Frank Sinatra Jr., and many more. Rhino recently re-issued a cult hit he wrote ('Spazz'â??Elastik Band) on their NUGGETS boxed set. Five years ago David decided to start his own independent label, Digital Cellars, as a conduit for his contemporary music. His debut CD was a strong radio hit airing on over 300 stations in all 50 states. Charged with classical and tribal influences, 'Pharaoh of Mars' became a new age instrumental favorite with intoxicating, ethereal compositions that currently remain in syndicated rotation. His second release on Digital Cellars, 'The Silicon Jungle', further expanded boundaries by presenting one of the most unique meldings of worldbeat, jazz, and electronica with cinematic overtones. Noted by PJ Birosik of Musik International to be 'Truly adventurous music for those who dare dream', many cuts off TSJ receive regular syndicated airplay to date. With 'EMBRACE DESTINY', David embarks upon yet a completely new direction while at the same time being careful not to neglect the elements of sensitivity that made his previous CDs so distinct. A fusion of jazz and light rock with ballads and vocals, EMBRACE DESTINY is sophisticated music with classic melodies and lyrics from the heart.
