Star in the East
Dawn Music Ministries: Who Are We? Dawn Music Ministries was founded by Stephen "Fitz" Fitzgerald and his wife Becky, after a missions trip to Saint Petersburg, Russia in March, 2000. The ministry was later incorporated in Colorado as an official non-profit organization, in September of 2004. While in Russia, Fitz and Becky met Ruslan Elishev and Valera Kudryavtsev, our Russian Director and Music Director. Together, they felt led to help a group of gifted young children record their first CD: If, In the Heart. This album was followed by a half dozen other recordings, and live concerts in Saint Petersburg, Moscow and the Ukraine. This past summer, the ministry was blessed to have the opportunity to share our music with the United States, during our acclaimed "Dawn's Early Light" tour. It was during this tour that I first met the members of the ministry, at a church service in Northern Virginia. They invited me to travel with them on their cross-country pilgrimage, and after much prayer and reflection, I was invited by the group to contribute my efforts to their mission. I accepted their offer with heartfelt thanks, and I know my life will never be the same. Our Mission: Singing the Word to the World Dawn Music Ministries makes music for the church in Russia, and strives to build bridges of faith between Christians all around the world. It is possible that in the future we may expand our outreach to other countries, but for now, we are convinced that the Lord has called us to serve His good purpose in Russia and the countries of the former Soviet Union. We record traditional and original songs of faith and instrumental worship music, in both Russian and English, and provide sheet music and audiovisual aids to newborn and growing congregations. We distribute our music and other humanitarian aid to schools, churches and orphanages in Russia, while offering Americans a rare, first-hand experience of the deep Russian soul and it's rich cultural heritage. We would also like to help churches in the United States to partner with churches overseas, and to organize successful missions trips, in the spirit of Christian fellowship and international goodwill. However, perhaps our most important calling is to help nurture and disciple the girls and boys in our own youth choir.
