Product Notes

Deaf Children Playing was formed in the late months of 1998 by Chris Skebo, Mark Verstraete and Dan Gonko. Originally started as just the three recording at home (playing everything between the three of them), then soon after the band was augmented with Chris' younger brother Jeff on Bass. The quartet played through the winter of 1999 countless shows and recorded their first EP. Not completely satisfied with the band's sound, Jeff switched to percussion, Mark switched to keyboards and Aaron Stone was added to bass. The quintet played shows for the next year and a half non-stop. In the winter of 2000 the band made a change once again. Dan left for college, Aaron left his role as the bassist; and in their place the band recruited Adam West to fill the guitar void and Michael Rais to fill the bassist role. DCP played as that band until the spring of 2003 when Adam left the band. From that point on the band played as a quartet until their hiatus in 2004. On December 11th 2006, after almost 3 years of being apart, DCP reformed with a new bassist and a new rhythm guitarist. After playing several shows in 2007-08 the band decided to finally settle-down and recorded their proper debut-album.
