Dezi Hayes Bio Desmond 'Dezi Hayes' Rubio began singing at the tender age of 5 while growing up in a home full of gospel singers. He began playing the drums at the age of 8, and then picked up the guitar at the age of 16. Forming his first band 'Britain Drive', He switch back to the drums while filling the back up vocal position. He went on to form two more bands called 'Anxious' and 'DZ Stanz' all the while writing music on his guitar. His final band was called 'Body & Soul' in which he would switch to lead vocals (frontman) and guitar permanently while touring and recording. His vocal capabilities would then take him on a solo career under the name 'Dezi Hayes' where he would go on to play at coffee houses to perfect his craft. He would go on to perform on an 'MTV' show called 'Motel California' with Bill Bellamy, and a live acoustic set on 'METRO MEDIA' cable performing in front of a live audience.. His accomplishment would lead him to record with bassist Don Boyette of 'Micheal Jackson' and perform with members of George Benson, Lou Rawls and the Tower of Power horn section. His unique soulful bluesy vocals would then land him a development deal with Josh Levine of Rebel Music. Feeling despair from all that was going on in his life (family, career, and love), he retreated to silence. From here is where he would find his voice. He began writing music from all that he had endured through his life, where he began a quest to tap into his talents. The music style of 'Alternative Soul' was born. L.
