Goes Down Smooth
Doc Lambert is a full time physician and full time musician. I realize that it is hard to be both but music follows him everywhere, everyday. On 'Goes Down Smooth',his second independent CD, he shares that music. The first track #1 'The Long Walk' descrbes what it is like relating to families of those who have just passed. It is dark but resolute. The second track 'Ray's Song' is the highlight of the CD. It is a tale of home, of growing, by describing his best friend and his relationship with his father. There are raucous tunes like 'Waitin' On Dan' and 'Every time I'm Face Down' mixed with deep reflective tunes like 'I Survived' and 'Evil Apparition'. All the songs are delivered with Doc's smooth style vocals and six string picking. With Todd Burge and Jim Clinton backing, the musicianship blends beautifully with the tales. 'Goes Down Smooth' does just what it says it does.
