Wine & Piano
Don is a long time muscian dating back to the 50's playing as a young boy. A classical clarinetist, he also writes songs for piano (without words). He loves the moodiness of the piano and, of course, it's wonderful spectrum of tone. A graduate of UCLA, he has performed for most major studios in Southern California including Warner Brothers, Disney, MGM and many others. At one point in his career, he was featured at the American Composers Convention held in Stockton. A composer had written him a clarinet composition to premiere. He was referred to as the Heifitz of clarinet. Young and promising, he played his way into demand. But, misfortune took it's course and he broke his hand so badly that he couldn't play for almost eight years. When his brother died, he inherited his piano. Being a person of song, Don started playing the piano a bit and within six months released his first piano CD. The next year he composed almost 70 songs for piano. This CD represents just a few of them. His hand began to heal.... his desire flourished again.... and soon he was not only playing piano but began to play clarinet again........ going on to do a lot more recording as well as performing live in San Diego. To him, life is good.... and he feels blessed to be able to present a touch of his life to you. We hope you enjoy the songs... The mood... and the fun of music.
