Don's background is in jazz. He studied privately with jazz bassist and recording artist Gary Peacock. He has played with several jazz groups around the Seattle area. He met songwriter and guitarist Jeff Quill through a church group and they have been performing together for over a decade. Don performed on Jeff's first CD, 'Wings Of Mercy', and wrote one of the songs for the project. This is Don's first album, and he is joined here by Jeff, percussionist (and orthodox monk) Brother Isaac, and electric guitarist Kerry Smith. These members of 'The Gospel Roadhouse Band' are also joined by violinist Kristen Forster and flutist Ruth Bradshaw. Don's foundation in jazz comes to the fore in songs like 'You Can't Get Away', 'This Old World' (written by Jeff Quill), and 'The Silence Of Your Song'. His Celtic side is in evidence on 'In The Midst' and 'Do You Know'. His Spanish roots come to the surface in the haunting 'Carry Me Over'. And his foundation in Jesus Christ is the bedrock of all his music. May the Spirit of God touch you as you listen to these songs.
