First to receive double board eligibilty in general and plastic surgery in a six year interval at the prestigious Johns Hopkins Hospital. First in history of Tulane Medical School to receive double doctorate degrees in Medicine and Biochemistry simultaneously. A recipient of the Humanitarian Award from the community Mayors of New York, Connecticut and New Jersey, sworn in by Mayor Rudy Guiliani. Currently Dean of the Louisiana University of Medical Sciences. A recipient of a doctorate of humanities from Southeastern Louisiana University. A recipient of a Certificate of Merit from President George H. Bush. Currently the Medical Director for Biological and Chemical Warfare for South East Louisiana Search and Rescue (SELSAR). Received Certificate of Commendation from the Philippine Medical Associations of Hawaii. Received Plaque of Appreciation from the Republic of the Philippines, Ministry of Health. Received Certificate of Recognition from State of Massachusetts - Governor Weld. Inductee into the Louisiana Treasures Hall of Fame. Received Concurrent Resolution #324 from the Louisiana Legislature.
