Blood on the Cross
Drainage X started in November 2002 in Lancaster Ca. In 2003 we relocated to Sin City.Currently our band rocked The Gathering of The Juggalos 2004 in front of over 4500 Juggalos. And also toured with Jumpsteady, ABK, Blaze and Esham on the PHAT tour of 2005.We don't just play music, we put on a show. The DRAINAGE X stage show involves very sexy Vampire Girls who dance on stage, and the leader of the vampires, EVIL SINS, who does very strange things during the show!!! Anyone who comes to a DRAINAGE X show should be prepared to have a crazytime. The music you'll hear online doesn't do us justice. You have to hear us live!!BLOOD ON THE CROSS If there's one thing that Drainage X has managed to do with their latest release "Blood on the Cross" is prove that extreme metal need not hide behind a constant double bass and 10,000 blast beats. Although these elements are used on occasion on songs like "Mucho Mosh" and "Death's Face" the band doesn't over dose on these stylings, but rather throw them in a diversified blend of madness that is present on the album, but of course who could leave out a blistering guitar solo and a throat massacring scream? Well certainly not the boys of Drainage X. With an appearance similar to the likes of Scandinavian Black Metal acts such as Enthroned, Immortal or Emperor this band is too good and well rounded to be categorized as a one dimensional act. The depth of the music is uncanny when one's ears are being scorched by the sounds of "Amputee" only to fall into the relaxing melody that is "Acoustic Puff". With a quality reminiscent of a track from DOWN, an old school stoner metal aspect can be heard. Once there, the music becomes entrancing and full of mood, you become engulfed in the pause from the madness to which you had just become previously just encased. Hence when the final bong rip is over you are thrust face first into the band's apparent battle cry for chaos; "Mucho Mosh". This is probably the most unrelenting track on the album, so full of entropy and madness there aren't even any real lyrics. This is pretty much a straight forward thrash song (as the title suggests) purely for moshing and pandemonium. Most of the album follows suit on such songs, but their influences of Slayer and Black Sabbath are also relevant in songs such as "Falling Skin" and "Space Zombie" which carry a New York Hardcore (old school White Zombie) kind of song structure. This album is an eclectic blend of the most prominent styles of metal, which keeps the listener hooked without the songs loosing their individuality or creativeness. This kind of writing and style can only be attributed to musicians with a background and experience at what they do. 10+ years these guys have been making music and it shows in style and song arrangements, these are not rookies. Though this now will bring us to the last track and surprisingly one of the oddest on the album and that is "Evil Dreams". This is the perfect closure to an album that would be well suited as a soundtrack to a gore filled "slasher" movie. This would be the last scene where the murderer gets away (for the sequel) the hero is killed and the credits role. The fine print next to the song reads "head phones required" which is not suggestive as you need them to engulf yourself in the dark feeling of these "evil dreams"/nightmare. This perfectly sums up this masterpiece of underground mayhem known as Drainage X, for when the album is over the listener is compelled to place the CD player on "repeat" as to relive the evil that is "Blood on the Cross". And now it's time for PAIN our new full lenght album recently hit the stores and will soon be available through CD Baby. This album will knock your socks off. With is hardcore riffs and deafining screams. So keep a look out for this new release.
