Evolution of a Man
Born in Montana, raised in New Mexico and sent out to play in Hotlanta Georgia, I soon realized that music had it's grips on me. Fresh out of high school with no real plan I decided to visit my uncle who was a California musician playing in Atlanta. The club, the colored lights, the girls dancing,I was hooked! Unfortunately the next day the club owner loaded all the booze and furniture up and skipped town without paying the band or any employees and I had my first lesson in the ups and downs of the music business. But nonetheless I was sucked in and my uncle bought me a bass guitar and I quickly replaced the disillusioned bass player who hightailed it back to Cal. Our first assignment was to drive out to LA and go in the studio and record. So I often say I started at the top and worked my way down. I joined forces with my sister Carrie and we put together several groups and began playing the club circuit around Atlanta. After a failed attempt to go back to college when I was 27 I soon became a married with child carpenter slash musician with all the usual distractions in life. But while playing in the band Exhibit X which consisted of most of the musicians whom played on this CD, my wife and I fell in love with and purchased land in the country of Costa Rica. The awesome beauty and sheer adventure of the country soon had me filled with enthusiasm and the music began to flow out of me like a damaged levee. Since life is busy and a home is filled with distractions I turned to my truck to be my own personal studio. Armed with a shortened guitar with a built in battery- powered speaker, a notebook for lyrics and a knack for driving with one knee I wrote and arranged every song on this CD while maneuvering through thick Atlanta traffic. Some would say this was a senseless act of endangerment to myself and those around me and some would say this was a creative use of the arduous hours we all spend trapped in the seat of a car day in and day out. But the bottom line is that this CD would have never been made otherwise. But please don?t try this at home. So with all this music and the excellent help of producer Steve Hulse, who also has many fine Cds for sale at Cdbaby we put together The Evolution of a Man which with 17 songs, that should appeal to a wide cross mix of different tastes and styles, hopefully will become part of your musical library and a soundtrack for your own Evolution through life.
