It Aint the Years
In the desert southwest, when the summer sun is beating down, it is the trusty swamp cooler, more mundanely known as the 'evaporative cooler' which cools the dry desert heat and saves the day. The Duke City Swampcoolers like to think of themselves in that way. The Duke City Swampcoolers is a bluegrass band from Albuquerque, New Mexico. Albuquerque is known as the 'Duke City' because it was originally named for a Spanish duke. The band is made up of an eclectic mix of people who do an equally eclectic mix of folk, bluegrass, and gospel music with a little jazz and swing thrown in for good measure. Official 'Swampcoolers' include Jesse Rael( songwriter, vocal, bass, mandolin, guitar, dobro and sound man), Bill Dufault( vocal/songwriter, guitar, mandolin), John Bryan( vocal/songwriter, banjo, bass, and sound man), and Aaron Combs (vocal, fiddle, guitar) and Tony Smith( vocal/songwriter, guitar). The Duke City Swampcoolers hope you enjoy the music and that it makes you cry sometimes and laugh at others because that is what life is all about!
