Make You Love Me
"Make You Love Me", is the title of the initial offering of the new Recording Artist Earl Jackson, Jr., AKA EJacksonjr or EJ. Released January of 07, the Project is a compilation of original and covered love songs that weave a tale of a Love Relationship from it's inception to an unwanted break-up. It also includes EJ's version of Donnie McClurkin's inspirational ballad "Stand". Each cut on the CD is delivered in a smooth, expressive and unique style reminiscent of some the great balladeers of our time such as, Nat Cole, Luther Vandross, Isaac Hays, Teddy Pendergrass and Will Downing. Make You Love Me, tells a Universal story, with great songs, great music and a unique voice. It is certain to be a CD that you will enjoy listening to over and over again. BIOGRAPHY Like most singers, I began singing in the Church at an early age. My father is a long time Baptist Pastor. In middle school and into college, I played trombone in the concert and marching bands. In my senior year of high school, on a dare from a friend, I auditioned for the school Concert Choir, and was selected. Because I could read music and had a strong ear for music, I excelled and was subsequently selected for the All-Region, and the Texas Music Educators Association's All State Choir. Because of my selection to the All State Choir, I was offered and accepted a vocal scholarship to Texas A&I University, (now known as Texas A&M Kingsville). At A&I I received private voice instruction, studied music theory and piano. I also participated in the University Concert Choir and was a member of the A&I Singers, an elite group of eight voices that performed popular music around the local area and across the state as ambassadors for the University. I subsequently left A&I to begin a career in Aviation as an Air Traffic Controller; however, I have continued to be involved in music and singing on amateur, semi-professional, and professional levels. While the majority of my singing has been affiliated with the Church, I have also performed at numerous weddings and other special events. On several occasions after performing, I have been approached and asked, had I done any professional recording and also asked, If I had any product that could be purchased. Initially, I was flattered, but this has happened enough for me to start taking the comments seriously, thus my impetus for this recording project. I enjoy performing all styles of music, from Gospel to R&B, from Pop to Old School, but my personal favorites are Ballads and Love Songs. My desire is that people receive as much pleasure from listening to my music, as I do making my music. EJ.
