This is Elliot Steger's fourth CD of original jazz compositions and displays his focus on a beautiful melodic line with lush harmonies and creative improvisations. His early classical training combined with his jazz background through a teacher at the Berklee College of Music are evident in his improvisations. Many of these orignal songs have interesting rhythm changes from latin or jazz waltz to swing. He is joined by Lello Molinari on acoustic bass and Jon Hazilla on drums, both recording artists and professors at the Berklee College of Music providing a very together rhythm section and great improvisations. Also appearing for the first time with Elliot is a very talented conga player, Christine Horn, adding a latin feel to several of the songs. Steger was recently nomimated for best instrumental song of the year along with Ahmad Jamal by Just Plain Folks, a musical organization, that screened over 100,000 songs for this competition. As with his previous CD's, 'Images', 'Transition', and 'Making Time', Steger donates all his CD profits to the American Cancer Society, the Alzheimer's Association, and the Multiple Sclerosis Society.
