Founded in 2003, by producer/lyricist Richie Skye and vocalists E. Maria and Kieshawna Hall, the group originally formed (under the name Naughty Dred) to perform a track for the Invazion of the Bodyshakers album, an international release for the Bodyshakers, a premier dance organization based in Southern Maryland. The song became the first official single from the soundtrack, garnering quite a bit of notoriety after the group toured regionally with the Bodyshakers. The group set it's sights higher after that release and chose to continue recording and performing as a group. In 2005, the trio began work on it's first studio release. During the summer of 2005, the group hit a roadblock in it's rise to the top, when all of their recorded material was destroyed and Kieshawna, moved to Atlanta, GA to pursue other interests. She has since moved back to Richmond, VA and keeps in contact with the other group members and contributes as a talented writer for many Ellis Uniques' songs. Now the group is ready to explode with a monster album filled, with in-your-face beats and a genre-bending style sure to satisfy even the most critical listeners. Collaborators include hip-hop production duo Tha Soundrome and rock veteran Nate of JRL and Nimble Wit Productions. The bulk of the album was produced by group member Richie Skye - churning out hits like the hypnotically melodic ballad Fade Away, the airy feel-good banger GO!, and the outrageously catchy first single, Monkey. After one listen critics and fans are sure to agree: Ellis Uniques is destined for stardom!
