In late summer of 2003, the idea that would later become Elyon's Fire began formulating in Ryan Lewis's mind. Earlier that year, the guitarist had left an ambitious local band on good terms in hopes of taking his music in a different direction. He had wanted to start a band with long-time friend and drummer Josh Pappas, and had recently met two brothers Corin and Jamin Neff who each possessed significant musical talent. Josh met Corin and Jamin at a church function, and was impressed with the boys' talent. The band was unofficially formed in December of 2003, when the four members decided to play a set at a local coffee shop. They started regular weekly practices at Josh's house, and began writing songs. The name was decided the following spring, and their first official show as Elyon's Fire was played at DreamWrights Youth and Family Theatre in York. For the next several years, the band suffered greatly due to each of the boys graduating one by one and schedules changing dramatically. Throughout this time, the band slowly gained some popularity among friends and acquaintances of it's members. Shows were very sporadic - the band would play 2 or 3 at a time and then go into hibernation for several months. At one of the lowest points of the band, lead vocal duties were switched from Corin's shoulders to Ryan's. The band began working on it's debut album soon after this switch, in January 2006. Songs slowly began being recorded and heard by the public. A few songs released on MySpace quickly shot to over 1000 plays each. However, the release of the album, originally targeted for Summer 2006, was delayed significantly due to various reasons. The album is now underway for release exactly one year after it's prototype was passed among band members. ABOUT THE ALBUM: This album was slowly chiseled out across the year 2006. The vocals and music were mostly performed by Ryan Lewis, save the drums (Josh Pappas) and a lead guitar on the opening track (Corin Neff). A few of the tracks were intended for a possible solo venture for Lewis, but were added to this album late in it's production. Elyon's Fire fans eagerly awaited this disc since it began production in January 2006.
