What a Friend
PASSION FOR CHRIST, is what inspired this heartfelt and serene ballad where powerful, expressive, forces coexist with graceful, beautiful, music and emotional depth. 'ERIC' combines the soul of Luther Vandross, the power of Richard Smallwood, and the universal appeal of Kirk Franklin in his singing. A native of North Carolina, 'ERIC' began his singing career at his home church, at the tender age of 7. Discovering that he had a penchant for singing and performing, 'ERIC' began singing as a featured soloist in many live recordings, various community choirs and several special events, such as the Annual Shirley Caesar Outreach Convention in Durham, NC. AT the age of 26 'ERIC's' reputation as a young evangelist and gospel singer had grown to the point that he was invited to speak and sing at a different venue almost every month. His path has crossed many of the Legends of Gospel music and he knows that his future lies in his primary mission,'TO WIN SOULS AND MINISTER TO HURTING PEOPLE'. His inspirations are, the late James Cleveland, the always inspiring Shirley Caesar, Albertina Walker, and Marvin Winans. He has performed with Mrs Shirley Caesar, who encouraged him, too the extent of having him sing at her home church in Raliegh NC as well as lead an opening praise and worship service at one of her appearances in Durham, NC. 'ERIC' knows that God has opened doors for him,(Eric most recently opened two shows for Vickie Winans (Mothers' Day 2005) at The Higher Dimensions Christian Center in Baltimore Md), and for this phase of his life, that will spark a ray of hope in the hearts and minds of the ones who are down and broken hearted, even those who are incarcerated and feel there is no hope. 'THERE IS HOPE..in JESUS'
