Studio to Stage
Studio to Stage introduces many "new" songs to the polka field, while staying very traditional in sound. Some of the selections are popular tunes done polka style. Others are original. His wife Nancy performs two original button box compositions that she and Eric worked on together, the "Holly Hop Polka" and "Amelia's Waltz". Another original is the "Superstar Polka" that Eric collaborated on with the late Bruce Burger. "Everyone Loves Someone" is a popular L'il Wally tune done Slovenian style. "Ma, I Miss Your Apple Pie" is a WWII song that is relevant today, done as a tribute to the Vadnals. "Going to Pennsylvania" was written by Hank Guzel Sr., and performed by Hank Guzel Jr. "Studio to Stage" also features some of Eric's most popular pop tunes. The "Champagne Medley" is a tribute to Lawrence Welk. "Blue Eyes Crying in the Rain" and "The Shadow of Your Smile" are some of Eric's most requested songs. Musicians on this recording are Eric Noltkamper on accordion, banjo, guitar, piano and vocals, Dave Wolnik on drums, Hank Guzel on bass and vocals, Norm Kobal on sax and clarinet, and special guest Nancy Hlad Noltkamper on button box.
