About Evening Son Evening Son is comprised of father-son team Den (guitar, vocals) and Ivan Polanco (drums, percussion, keyboards). Den, a native New Yorker, is a singer-songwriter who spent much of his twenties performing in open-mics, subways, and cafes around his beloved city. Immersed in his love of classic Zeppelin, U2, flamenco, and alternative artists such as Jeff Buckley and PJ Harvey, Den quickly developed his own percussive style of playing the guitar and infused it with the natural timbre of his tenor voice. He took another musical leap forward in 2002 when he hired session musicians to record his first solo album entitled Arrival. The album was recorded in Mount Kisco, NY, where by which Den quickly assembled a band under the name Den, of Wolves to help promote the record, performing in several intimate NYC venues during 2003-2004; most notably CBs Gallery and The Triad Theatre. It was in a tiny theatre on 4th Street and Ave. C, entitled The House of Tribes, where Den would ask his son Ivan to join the band on drums for a song to commemorate his 35th birthday. Den was immediately swept over by the tremendous spirit of sharing the stage with Ivan for the first time (being that father and son would playfully rehearse in their home around the time Ivan turned 8 years old) and the tremendous applause and surprise of the crowd after Ivan displayed the sharp proficiency in the roar of his drum. Thus, the evening culminated in an unforgettable moment for both father and son, with the epiphany that both would be sharing their dream of making music together. Having successfully performed in his first professional gig (at the tender age of 10), Ivan instantly became the drummer his father had been searching for. Two years later, Den and Ivan, now known as Evening Son, have completed their first two albums in their home studio (Evening Son, and Breathe Away) and have embarked on their love of performing together and sharing their infectious brand of rock to the masses.
