Points of No Return
The Exclamations were born long ago--and their story as a band has baked slowly to perfection for many years. Some of the tracks on their first release, Points Of No Return, were written as early as 1989 - on really cheap, crappy guitars to boot! They have come a long, long way both stylistically and instrumentally to bring their music out of the cauldron. Although the bulk of material was written before 1997, the guys found their ideas (and lives) merging back together in 2001 and began writing again to finish the long awaited project. The new material seemed to complete the circle that was started way back when. The album was then recorded without any computers, and every performance was recorded as a complete take so no expression or meaning was lost in the process. The music had to be alive. Although the process proved to be tedious at times, with various evil day jobs slowing the process even more, a chance meeting with Peter Frampton in 2004 added much needed fuel to the fire. When asked why it took so long for his own latest release to be completed, he gave The Exclamations sage advice: 'Don't settle for anything less than perfection when recording your music, no matter how long it takes.' Three years later, the demo was complete! That same year drummer Kolin 'The Wiz' Wisner entered the picture. His stylistic approach and keen ability to 'serve the song' finally allowed the band to fire the drum machine for good. Check out the tracks! It's very likely at least one will suit you...or maybe two...
