This new release by F.M.Turner features performances by Andrew Winn (Agents of Good Roots, Regan), Richmond VA Jazz Musicians: Reggie Pace, Bryce McOrmick, Pinson Chancelle, Sound of Music Studios session musicians: Miguel Urbiztondo, Brian Hoffa, Special Ed and the Shortbus: \'Special\' Ed Brogan, Josh P.F.Bearman, Bryan \'Cupcake\' Walthall, Ben \'Hieronomus Volcano\' Belcher, Television\'s Dan Plotnik, Jake\'Jake Sellers\'Sellers, Dr. Greg Donovan and Molly Berg. Engineered by Caleb Keiter This record was produced at Sound of Music Studios (owned by rock legends Cracker and platinum record producer John Morand). I worked as an intern and secondary engineer cleaning rock star vomit for 9 months while I was making the record. I learned a lot. The Igniter has a lot of similarities to Wilco or Cracker. There is also an Appalachian feel to many of the songs, provided by Special Ed and The Shortbus, a Richmond String Band. If they are playing on the track, it\'s because I wrote the song for them. One of my teachers, Andrew Winn, plays guitar and keyboards on Beautiful Dreams, and Fade To Heat. I studied music performance and composition at Va Tech in Blacksburg Va, and VCU in Richmond Va. I am currently living in Texas, working on a MM in String Bass performance and pedagogy at University of Houston. I am a performer and string bass teacher, and an instructor at San Jacinto University. If you dig: Wilco: Yankee Hotel Foxtrot, A.M. Beck: Mutations Cracker: Gentleman\'s Blues Sparklehorse: Vivadixiesubmarinetransmissionplot Agents of Good Roots: Needle and Thread Special Ed and the Shortbus: All Downhill From Here, Self Titled River of Dread Jim Kweskin Here\'s some bands I like: Frank Zappa The Beatles David Bowie PJ Harvey Captain Beefheart Admittedly, the record has a wide range of varying styles. If you like John Hartford or Jugband/acoustic music, check out Risk Each To Each Part of the System In the Water Waltz for Jack Hinshelwood and the Butterfly, one of my favorite Irish traditional tunes. If you like Wilco, Cracker, Or Sparklehorse, Check out We all Heavy Daedalus and Chains And if you like agents of Good Roots or Dave Matthews Band, Check out We all Heavy Deaf Man Turn To Go or Fade to Heat I have written my next record, Music to Help Plants Grow, and I am just waiting to find the right band to hire in Houston or Austin.
