Style & Gallantry EP
This record was recorded by Andy Schreiber in his attic in Columbus, OH, in November 2004. Drew Patterson then mixed it at home in Virginia that same month. It was birthed at Bernie's in Columbus during a racous rock and roll show by it's parents, Fine Dining. Fans of lo-fi indie pop like it a lot. '5 quick diverse (and masterful) tunes infested with indie rock melodies and retro stomp.' - beattheindiedrum.com Track-by-track 'Stuck In My Chair' starts things off with a set of propulsive verses leading into the most pummeling riff Fine Dining has produced. It's an uncharacteristic but invigorating start. 'Here Comes the Warm Jet' is next, a masterfully executed, retro-tinged rocker that jabs at the not-so-masterful retro rock that polluted the early post-millennial landscape. Watch out for those lasers! 'My Hit Single' is a clever journey through the life of a hit song, with a healthy dose of satire. The tale is packaged in a musical bed that recalls the classic indie rock of the mid '90s. 'Queen Marie' is a rollicking sea chantey about a sailor in the British fleet and his best friend, Charlie. 'The Plunge' finishes the EP with a head-bobbing romp. Never was regret so danceable!
