Forgiven is not simply a band name, it is a status. Many Christians spend too much precious time dwelling on past mistakes and thereby failing to live the victorious, joy filled life that their Lord would have them lead. We know that if we confess our sins, He is faithful to cleanse us (1JN, 1:9), but too many still carry around the weight of forgiven sins, and the weight is pulling them further away from the Joy of the Lord. Forgiven\'s mission is to help such believers. While we hope and pray for the opportunity to present the gospel to those who have not come to the saving relationship with Christ, this is not our primary directive. In order to truly praise God, one must KNOW God. Our goal is to help those believers who have forgotten how to praise. Believers who may have never realized there are many types of joyful songs which are pleasing to God. Ultimately, our goal is to in some way be an answer to the prayer that David, and countless others, prayed \'...restore unto me the joy of Thy salvation...\' When the Lord gave us the great commission in Mathew 28, He said we were to make disciples and remind us that He is with us until the end of the age. A disciple is a student, a follower. With that in mind we go to our concerts with the intent of helping others get back on track, back in fellowship with their Savior. Sometimes, all it takes is the reminder that He is with YOU. Ephesians 3:14-21 \'14 For this reason I bow my knees before the Father, 15 from whom every family in heaven and on earth derives it's name, 16 that He would grant you, according to the riches of His glory, to be strengthened with power through His Spirit in the inner man, 17 so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith; and that you, being rooted and grounded in love, 18 may be able to comprehend with all the saints what is breadth and length and height and depth, 19 and to know the love of Christ which surpasses knowledge, that you may be filled up to all the fullness of God. 20 Now, to Him who is able to do far more abundantly beyond all that we ask or think, according to the power that works within us, 21 to Him be the glory in the church and in Christ Jesus to all generations forever and ever. Amen.
