Mole People 5
Gary Martin started Teknotika Records in Detroit in 1993 after 10 years of band projects that involved many categories of music. In 1996 he began djing and has since djed close to 100 times in well over 10 different countries. For examples, the Rex in Paris, The Liquid Room in Tokyo, and Hart Plaza in Detroit. In the 2001 Detroit Music Awards, Mr. Martin was a nominee for Best Electronic DJ Performance. Gary's records have been played by, charted, and used in mix CD's by a countless number of dj's. Jeff Mills the Exhibitionist, Ben Sims Escapism, and Miss Kitten On The Road to name a few. His Label has over 40 releases and promoted over 10 different artists. The roster includes: Gary Martin, Futago Technologies, The Sense, Elliot Taub, Gigi Galaxy, Deetron and more. Gary has also released on a number of labels, Exceptional, KMS, Ingoma, Flux, Eye Q, Mole People and more. Let's not leave out the remixes (such as Gus Gus) and the license deals (such as Sony). Ok, now you want to know about the "classics". Black Forest charted 8 times in one issue of Groove magazine in Germany. Casa Cugat was a huge club and radio hit in Turkey. Ritual Fire Dance and Pimping People In High Places were also huge club hits in Europe. In both his dj set's and his releases Mr. Martin makes "techno" the tasteful choice of music.
