Product Notes

Summertime, Gary Meadows debut album is a mosaic of rock, country and blues interwoven into a unique Americana sound. Gary's slightly southern vocal's with an elite circle of some of the best musicians in northern Ohio complement the ten original songs. "Summertime" the first song on the album and album title was written as a tribute to the role models we all have in our lives, modestly recorded with two guitars, vocal and backing harmony, "Summertime" sets the stage for the rest of the album. The nine remaining songs, recorded complete with percussion, bass, guitar, and harmonies and even an occasional keyboard range from country to blues rock. Special Thanks to my wife Mary and our four children Davey, Angie, James, Becky for their patience during this project. Thanks, Randy Porter for all your recording and engineering skills, I would also like to thank all the musicians who helped out. Randy Porter, Chuck Maulk, Jeff Broom, Sharon Canterbury, Lance Horwittle, Heather Chapman, Marcella Mowel, Mary Smith. I would also like to thank all the friends and family who encouraged me along the way. Summertime ©2006 Gary Meadows Eighty three, weathered and grey, Walked with a limp and a hickory cane, They say I got his eyes, I got his name, My Grandpa, that ain't all he gave, And it was summertime, Cane poles, Kicking up dust down some gravel road, A bottle of coke when the row gets hoe'd, Back porch setting when the sun gets low, John deer cap and a half a grin, A checker board and he'd let me win, Bluegrass playing on the radio, Grandma's cooking and it's all home grown, And it was summertime, Cane poles, Kicking up dust down some gravel road, A bottle of coke when the row gets hoe'd, Back porch setting when the sun gets low, Seventeen, I got a little too tall, Grandpa said boy you're going to fall, He was right, I guess I learned, You get exactly what you earn, And it was summertime, Cane poles, kicking up dust down some gravel road, A bottle of coke when the row gets hoe'd, Back porch setting when the sun gets low, I was twenty one when Grandma called, She said he's gone, he's left us all, When my time comes and I cross that line, I know it's going to be summertime, Going to be summertime, Cane poles, Kicking up dust down some gravel road, A bottle of coke when the row gets hoe'd, Back porch setting when the sun gets low . .
