Matthew Bonazzoli originally formed Gearhead in the spring of 1999. Through jamming with musician friends he's worked with in the past and a few recent acquaintances his concept of mixing a 1950's feel with a modern sound has now morphed into the band Gearhead. In 2001 the band was graced with the Worcester Phoenix Listener's Choice award for Best Pop Act. Gearhead, though at times flavored with a sense of alternative rock is mostly a guitar rock outfit with a pop influence. Songs like Moody Girl, V8, Last Cool Single Girl, The Driver and the haunting Concord Road are sure signs that this band will be loved by all that hear them. Brian Kendall, whose last band Trigger won a best of Worcester award two years in a row contributes guitar work and harmony vocals. Although this is his first real foray into the land of original music Brian had adapted quite well and has contributed substantially to the songs on both the dynaflow and Torqued albums. Bill Crooks played for numerous years is the band 'The Bad Pennies' and has added his decades of experience to the percussion end. Matthew Bonazzoli has played in various outfits, most notably the alternative art rock band 'Innocent Victim', with whom he recorded two critically praised albums. Bill Scannell, also a former member of Innocent Victim rounds out the sound on bass.
