Straight from My Heart
I grew up in a large Pentecostal family in southern Idaho. I started singing with my sisters in church and area youth group rallys. A large part of our musical exposure outside of church was Southern Gospel quartet LP's. After I went off to Bible college in North Dakota, I got involved in weekend music ministries. Jesus music, contemporary Christian music, scripture songs and praise and worship music were becoming popular then, slowly replacing hymns as the music of choice in church. I have been tainted by all of these. I still love hymns. I have a deep love for the Lord, and my relationship with Him has carried me through many of the rough spots in life. All of my songs have a story that could be told about what was happening when I wrote each one. I have been a minister of the Gospel for 32 years. I am presently the pastor of the Putnam Baptist Church in Putnam, CT., and the chaplain of the Pierce Memorial Baptist Home. I am involved with Carenet, Tres Dias, and various board positions. I am the husband of Christina, father of three daughters and one son; I have 9 grandchildren.
