Young People of the World
Glen Everhart has been writing and performing wonderful songs for children for over 20 years! A former elementary school music teacher, he KNOWS what it takes to make kids move, laugh, and SING! Glen performs nationally as a musical comic at business events, fairs and festivals. His comedy golf CD 'The One Putt Strut' is a big hit on CD Baby and has been featured on NBC's Today Show, as well as nationally prominent golf radio and television programming. Glen is available to perform his songs at elementary school lyceums throughout the midwest. Here's a brief description of each song from the CD: I've Got The Hebegebees - This song was a TOP 5 FINALIST in the 2005 GREAT AMERICAN SONG CONTEST! It's a high energy, easy sing-a-long that makes kids DANCE! The lyrics are all about those times in a kid's life when they know they're supposed to sit still but they just can't...they simply have to get rid of those Hebegebees! Kiss The Moose - What do you do if you encounter a moose in the great north woods? Climb a tree and kiss him on the nose, of course! This samba style song is one that will stick in your head from the first listen...kids love to sing along with the background vocals. The 4 Headed, 3 Legged, 2 Armed, 1 Eyed Monster - A great narrative song story, perfect for Halloween, with a funny, surprise ending and the coolest monster voice you've ever heard! It strikes just the right balance between spooky, funny, and dramatic. Young People Of The World - This song is well known and performed worldwide as a favorite of 5th graders because it is published in the MacMillan music textbook series "Music and You". Glen wrote it for his students at Cold Spring Elementary School, and the song's influence just keeps on growing every year. It's a simple, joyous, reggae styled sing-a-long about connecting children throughout the world. Camp Ishy-Fishy-Stinky-Socky-Skeeter-Slappy-Toada-Hoppy-Burpa-Lotta-Woodsa-Tickle-ee - Ok, the title is long and hard to say, but that's what makes it FUN! A folky song that reminisces about his memories of summer camp, this is a song that kids will want to hear over and over, and their parents won't mind at all. The Lion Sleeps Tonight - What kid (or grown up kid) doesn't love this song? Who doesn't enjoy singing the soaring high part in the chorus? We ALL do...that's why it's on the CD! Froggy Went A Courtin' - As we all know, folk songs evolve with each performer's unique rendition, and Glen has really taken this one where no version has gone before! Half story, have sing-a-long, you'll have to hear what's happening on the shores of the "stinky, slimy, green swamp!" The Rattlin' Bog - Another funny, energetic, and challenging rendition of an old folk song kids know and love. Look for Glen's video on youtube and learn the actions, and get ready for the surprise ending! The Littlest Worm - An elementary classroom favorite sing-a-long, this song makes kids smile, smile again, and smile AGAIN! Did I mention it would make kids smile? A New Guitar For Christmas - The guitar has been the love of Glen's life, and he wants kids to have a chance to fall in love, too...what better time than at Christmas? Brand New Boy - Ok, this song is for Mom and Dad...they deserve a reward at the end of the CD! Glen wrote this for the birth of his son, and the twist is that Cole is a fine young guitar player himself, so he performs the electric guitar solos on the recording. Carmella's Song - Every songwriting parent knows that each child must have their own song, and Glen wrote this one for the birth of his daughter Carmella...she plays the flute solo in the middle of the song. A relaxing end to a fun CD..."can we play it again?"
