Gloria Merritt has been performing both vocally and instrumentally since childhood and discovered her ability in songwriting and arranging during her high school years. She lived in the Nashville, TN area for 20 years, only dabbling in music while other career pursuits took priority. Now in the Denver area, Gloria is a worship leader at a thriving church in the Arvada suburb. Her vocal and leading style is similar to Twila Paris. Gloria hopes to help others enter into worship, whether at church or through her CD, and hopes that the CD Re: generation provides a soothing and worshipful tone -- drawing the listener to their Savior and Redeemer, Jesus. Most of it's cuts use the words of old hymns that she has set to a new tune, giving it new life and meaning. The cut 'Revelation 15' comes directly from scripture, utilizing the words uttered in Heaven before God's throne. Two cuts are piano solos. Worship music is her favorite genre, but she appreciates many types of music, and enjoys finding obscure artists and styles wherever and whenever she can. She is continually amazed by the diverse and abundant talent among musicians.
