I Know You Do
Born 1957 in Wolfenbuttel, Germany. Emigrated to U.S. via Canada in 1965. The first songs I remember hearing on the radio were by Elvis and The Beatles, and I was hooked. Later on, bands like The Guess Who, Chicago, and BS&T blew me away, and my musical heroes are Ray Charles and Joe Cocker (and I have to admit I'm a closet Neil Diamond fan). My favorite musical period was, and still is, the late 60's thru the late 70's and I hope that influence comes through in my music. Back then it was all 'rock music' but today, with dozens of "genres", all with dozens of sub-genres, I don't know whether to label this song blues rock, pop rock with a touch of funk rock, or ?? And how do you label an album that may have some country rock, southern rock, hard rock and soft rock on it? I choose to call it "neo-classic rock". Anyway, whatever you call it, I hope you like it. I'm currently working on a neo-classic rock album that I hope to release in a couple of months. P.S. this just in..."I Know You Do" has just won the director's award at the Nashville International Song and Lyric Contest and is in line for the first and grand prize awards.
