Here in My Heart
Gregg Hansen (solo fingerstyle steel string acoustic guitar/ arranger/ composer) Celtic and Nostalgia Guitar?"Soft Sounds For Any Occasion" Gregg Hansen with his Acoustic Guitar creates a mood that fills that space just below conversation level and just above silence with pure and natural instrumental guitar music. From the Beatles to John Denver from Ballads to Irish Jigs ---- Gregg sets a mood of nostalgia that touches the generations.. ........Classics with a Classical Flavor.... -- or just -- ........Good-ole fashioned--Finger Pickin'--Guitar Music..... ............no matter what you call it....... ...even though it's instrumental music.... ...................................you'll find yourself singing along!!!!.............................. Gregg Hansen has played a lifetime of music. Growing up with guitar influences such as Jerry Garcia, Jimi Hendrix, Chet Atkins, George Harrison, and Paul Simon has put an edge on Gregg's guitar playing that only 'being there' could provide. The feel of the sixties with the experience of 45 years of pickin' adds up to a smooth, mellow, musical guitar style. Although Gregg's music is instrumental - he is always mindful of the lyrics. His favorite thing is to play arrangements of popular songs with lyrics of peace and consciousness so that the lryic will appear in the mind of the listener - as if it were being sung. 'Here in my Heart' is a collection of Gregg Hansen's best loved renditions of timeless sixties' classics, traditional Celtic melodies, and his original composition. Over a span of three decades Gregg has arranged and performed these selections all across the country. The nostalgic tunes from the sixties accompanied him through his youth, while the Celtic tracks originate in a tradition hundreds of years old. His original composition, 'Here In My Heart' was inspired by his daughter Pearl during his Nashville years. Though this is Gregg's fourth CD, it is his first of solo instrumental guitar--except for two tunes, 'Danny Boy' and 'The Water is Wide' in which he is joined by the sweet, lyrical flute and whistle playing of Cynthia Jaffe. He and Cynthia also form the Celtic trio - 'Peace & Love & Jigs & Reels'. In the stream of life we all wade through, the songs of our youthand our ancestors always 'sing true' - right here in our hearts.
