Shadows in the Rain
Gregg Rose - Singer/Songwriter Gregg is a modern-day storyteller who has been compared with artists such as Tom Petty, Bruce Springsteen, The Wallflowers and Matchbox 20. He first started playing live for college audiences at Oneonta State University in New York and in the early 1990's he joined Horizon, his first rock group. He played the Long Island club/party circuit as a lead guitarist in this original/cover band. Throughout the latter part of the 90's armed with an acoustic guitar and a broader awareness of music, he immersed himself in songwriting and performed as a solo act. 'I love the power I feel when I'm plugged into an amp, but there's something about the freedom of an acoustic guitar that takes me to a different place. Growing up, I wanted to be a lead guitarist in a hard rock/metal band. As I got older, I began to focus on songwriting as a whole, and discovered that I had a lot to say. I really don't care what the dominant instrument is in any particular song, whether it's a guitar, a piano or a French horn, as long as it helps to get my point across.' said Gregg. It wasn't until the turn of the new millennium that Gregg teamed up with Producer/Engineer Alan Scott Plotkin (Public Enemy, Aerosmith, Vanessa Williams) to record his debut album- 'Shadows In The Rain'. 'The album is a refreshing compilation of acoustic guitar based music that blends the styles of pop, rock, blues, and a hint of country. Gregg opens up his soul to the world with heartfelt, meaningful lyrics on this feel-good album that leaves the listener satisfied yet wanting more.' Gregg is currently writing for film projects and is back in the studio working on his second album.
