Han Ho (1972) is an Austin-based singer/songwriter whose music can be described as a combination of traditional folk to Indie Folk Rock, He has been described as a 'Jack Johnson meets James Taylor', and 'music without the preservatives.' His 3rd CD: Life Belt has already been met with positive reviews, as he has been showcased on Fox News Music in the Morning, as well as approached by music video producers (StayIndie, Reel Films),who believe his music is destined for a wider listening audience. Han was born in Vietnam and fled to America at the age of 3 with his mother and 8 siblings three days before the fall of Saigon in 1975. From there, a church from Denver, Colorado sponsored his family, and he continued to live there until he graduated from high school (Denver South) in 1990. He first began playing guitar at the age of 14, when he took one of his brother's guitars and restrung it to play left-handed. His brother, Quang Ho, a world renown fine artist, taught him a few chords, and eventually buying Han his first guitar. It was not long after that Han was writing songs and performing for whomever would listen. He recalls his first experience with 'performing' was at Paris on the Platte in Denver, Colorado. He was still in high school, yet because of his supportive niche of family and friends, it brought in a full hoiuse! He got the stage bug after that and it never left him. Today, Han lives in Portand, Oregon after recently relocating from Austin, Texas after 12 years. He continues writing and performing, but is setting his sights on a new album, and also a trip back to his homeland, Vietnam. For now he is grateful to be surrouned around some family (2 sisters), as well as by the comfort of forests of Evergreen. His debut CD release Life Belt (March2010), was held at the internationally acclaimed, Cactus Cafe, and was his third CD release following, Naive Man, and Out of my Hands. Revolution Records plans on working on his next CD...keep your eyes and ears open!
