Hector R Contreras New Age 2
My second New Age project is an inspiration and reflection to different events and/or situations. Each song is a love affair with the 'Spirit of Music.' 'I am the brush that the 'Spirit of Music' uses in drawing it's etchings on the canvas of expression.' The first song, 'Flowers on the Hillside', was inspired when my wife and I were on a driviing trip to Carmel, California during the spring time. Through the middle valley, we saw colorful flowers on the hillside swaying in the wind. It was beautiful! The second song, 'Le Jardin de Emilie', is dedicated to my wife Emilie. A few years ago, we were living in an apartment with a balcony. She planted the most beautiful garden with lots of greenery and flowers. It was so inspirational to me. This song is created with a French feel. Song number three, 'Feathers in the Wind' is one of those songs that will be included in my next Brazilian Jazz project. I am collaborating with Elisete Retter who is a Brazilian singer/writer living in Israel. She is completing lyrics (in Portuguese). I was sitting in my back yard and feathers were drifting in the sky. Song number four, 'A Song by my Angel', is a melody that was given to me in a dream by my Angel whose name is Melody. The number five song, 'Flowers of Brazil', is another song that will be included in the Brazilian Jazz CD. This is an up-beat jazzy Samba song. My sixth song, 'A Song in my Spirit', is a melody that has been with me for a number of years. It's final development was done in the early part of this year. Song seven, 'Children's Games', is a variation and continued musical development of 'Children's Play' that is on my first Soundscape CD. It also has a Brazilian feel and will also be included in my Brazilian Jazz Project. The eighth song, 'The Big Red Rock' was inspired when I traveled on a road trip with my wife to visit her brother Sam who lives in Dallas, Texas. There is an area between El Paso, Texas and Dallas that has beautiful red rock formations. This song has a strong Native American feel. The ninth song, 'Destiny', was inspired by the music of Michele Le Grande. One night, while I was at Span-Jew Production Recording Studios, Carlos played for me a selection of this great composer of music. I was deeply moved. Song number ten, 'Searching for the Light', was composed when I was looking for answers to my purpose in life. All this music is a gift from the 'Spirit of Music.' Enjoy! God Bless, Hector.
