Welcome to My World
Henry Smith. Henry's first stage appearance was at the tender age of just five years old, when he backed his father on stage with his first set of drums. He managed a big beaming smile. That said it all. 'My life is in Country Music' 27 yrs later his attitude towards what he loves most has not changed a bit, for he lives eats and sleeps country music to the extent that he will travel the width and breath of the country to do what he does best, ENTERTAIN, it gives him great joy to see his audience Happy. He has a great rapport with them and it reflects. Henry has the kind of magic other entertainers would die for, being a born natural who sincerely loves his audience. Henry sometimes becomes emotional should he see someone disabled or with learning difficulties near the stage, many times he has been known to get off the stage take them by the hand and bring them on stage with him. The sight of this can be very emotional when you see him take off his hat and guitar and strap it around their shoulders, to have them sing along at the side of him, .you can only imagine a fraction of the joy that, that person feels standing on stage singing in front of an audience. That is what Henry takes great pleasure from, making people happy. Henry was born in Reading Berkshire on 30th Jan 1972 the third and youngest child of mother Sheila and father Henry. Having a sister Pearl and brother Michael all having secondary modern education, it was soon clear that neither one was about to become Lawyers Doctors or brain surgeons so they all worked together in their local family business, satisfied to earn a living. Henry was given plenty of time to pursue his music ambitions, apparently, music was not his only ambition, and he was married at the tender age of nineteen years old and having three children Gloria, Henry Jnr, and Georgie the youngest a girl. Sadly the marriage was not to survive and both went there separate ways after 10 yrs, both having shared custody of the children, not an ideal situation but has Henry says things could have been worse, much worse. A few months after the break up of his marriage, he met Jennifer, who soon become his partner and are both very happy with their young and beautiful son Jamie. Despite the break up of his marriage Henry spends as much time as he can with his children and devotes every minute to them, he is clearly a doting father who puts his children first. Henry is a multi award-winning entertainer, winning seventeen trophies at Nebraska Festival in America in 1998, won Band of the year 1999 and is held in very high esteem through out the country music industry; Henry has become a favourite at many of Britain's festivals and a number of clubs that can afford him. (I say this because some smaller clubs are just not big enough to cater for larger audiences therefore not able to afford him) (although I have often heard him say he would gladly sing anywhere for nothing if he could afford to but him and the boys have to earn a living and travelling expenses which is not cheap now a days ) The band is a five-piece band, pedal steel guitar, Lead guitar, Bass guitar, Drums and Rhythm & Vocals. All the boys in the band get on like a house on fire they love each other's company and have great times along the way. Henry and his band average 250 gigs every year they are very busy and well respected. Of recent Henry has Joined the family of Diamondroads Records who are promoting Henry all over the World.
