- Illusions is High Ceiling's second album and represents the bands focus on creating a release with a musically diverse song-list that stays accessible to any listener. The lyrics are conscious, positive, cliché-free and sit above top-shelf musicianship. From the first Hammond-Organ introduced guitar solo at the beginning of the album's title track, to the final rapid increase in blood pressure with the band's tempo ascending epic, Reality, High Ceiling creates a different soundscape with each song. The tunes all stay true to the band's reggae, funk, and world music roots, but always retain the intensity of good rock music. Written with a reverence for unity, love, compassion, and growth, the songs on Illusions relay a feeling of oneness that certainly has the ability to move an audience of listeners.
