First ever recording of the standard Rose 32 clarinet etudes with new piano accompaniments. These beautiful melodies played with rich and intricate piano accompaniments make over an hour of pleasant listening for anyone, and a great study help for clarinetists. Christopher Hill is Principal Clarinet for the South Dakota Symphony, a Rico Grand Artist, and Conductor of the Sioux Falls Municipal Band. John Walker is Director of Keyboard Studies and Associate Professor of Music at South Dakota State University, and Principal Keyboard for the South Dakota Symphony. Dr. Walker composed the complete piano accompaniments to the Rose 32 Etudes for Clarinet in 2003-04, and recorded them on CD for Carl Fischer. This accompaniment CD (Carl Fischer cat. #WF5 CD) is widely available online. Walker has also composed and recorded accompaniments to the Ferling 48 Studies for Oboe or Saxophone on six CDs, which is scheduled to be released by Carl Fischer in 2007. Hill and Walker recorded the Rose Etudes together in spring, 2006 at South Dakota State University's Larson Memorial Concert Hall. More information at roseetudes.com.
