House of Hope
Hope has been playing the cello since she was 7 years old. She excelled at an early age and during high school performed at Lincoln Center and Carnegie Hall. Her pre-college studies began at the Cleveland Institute of Music, where she won national competitions and other awards before going to Boston to continue her musical studies at the New England Conservatory. She graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in music, with a 'distinction in performance'. After receiving a Fulbright Scholarship, Hope enriched her knowledge of music at the Royal Northern College of Music, in Manchester, England, under the tutelage of Ralph Kirshbaum. In addition to her formal education, Hope has extensive training in chamber music and has performed in festivals in Aspen, Banff, Taos as well as on the East coast and abroad. In 1993 Hope moved to Los Angeles and began her acting career. She has appeared in commercials, music videos, and independant film. Most recently, Hope has performed studio music and has crossed over from the classical world to something new and innovative. This led to her performing on tour in the band of singer/songwriter, Sheila Nicholls. Since then, she has progressed to writing her own music, singing, performing and teaching. Hope's sound incorporates her vast knowledge of the diverse music she has studied: from classical Indian to jazz. Hope's classical trained ear, ( Bach and Beethoven, etc.) along with her love of popluar music has enabled her to create something completely original and honest. She is performing in the L.A. area and can be seen on the web at houseofhope.Biz.
