Howard Fishman Quartet 2
Howard Fishman's first Quartet burst on the scene in 1999 with an unprecedented nine-month residency at the Algonquin in New York City, exploring the roots of popular American music with a program of early jazz, pop, blues, hillbilly and light classical songs. The New York Times wrote "The group recombines familiar ingredients to create it's own brand of classicism...fine-tuned ensemble music that transcends time and idiom." This CD, "The Howard Fishman Quartet Vol. 2" is a collection of previously unreleased material left off of their original, eponymous debut.
