Hugs for Strangers
Blending style, performance, and class all into one, Hugs for Strangers is guaranteed to rock your world. Chris Thompson, the lead vocalist and guitarist has been known for his vocal talents and songwriting ability. He has been known to possess almost inhuman musical talent, dabbling in the trombone and piano. His voice can be best described as that of an alternative rock crooner, trapped in the world of fast food and taxi cabs that is NYU. Noah Litvin, nicknamed 'The Bass Boppin' Babe-Magnet,' has been slapping the bass for some time now and has found influences in rock, jazz, blues, funk, and reggae. With his curly locks almost hiding his charming good looks, he is often seen creating a new funky-fresh line to keep the fans screaming for more. Graham Richman, the fiery haired lead guitarist and backup vocalist, was previously known for his ability on the keyboard, but has since rocked the Mamaroneck musical scene with his melodic and harmonic supersonic pentatonics...on a polka dot guitar. He has been influenced by rock, jazz, fusion, and bluegrass, bringing some extra flavor to the group. It has been said that "The world doesn't spin to the beat of just one drum,' so in an attempt to keep the world spinning, Harrison Tietze has dedicated himself to playing all of them. Percussionist extraordinaire, he provides the beats behind the Hugs For Strangers sound, whether it is on the bongos, the cajon, the drums, or his famous shekere. When these four join together, the result is nothing short of sensational. Slowly but surely, smiles will come to the faces of people all around the world as the almost magical acoustic-rock sound that flows from their stereos reaches their ears.
