Hunter's Point has been described as a blend of contemporary female artists such as Fiona Apple and Tori Amos, while incorporating a rock edge reminiscent of Jeff Buckley and Incubus. While they are certainly of the rock genre, HP incorporates more complex harmonies in their songs, adding a hint of bands like Steely Dan. Hunter's Point recently teamed up with engineer and producer Lynne Earls (K.D. Lang), to record their debut album. Released in April 2008, the album has truly given HP a way to define their place in the music scene. While establishing a solid sound, they were able to explore musical possibilities, finding a freedom that gives the album exceptional energy and drive. Hunter's Point was originally formed in 2006 by Tahkus Ekedal (vocals & piano) and Peter Boskosvich (bass), both graduates of the LA Music Academy in Southern California. Fellow alums Jackson Allen (guitar), and Mike Hughes (drums) have since completed the line-up. Originally driven by Tahkus' songwriting, the band has truly evolved through the combined creativity and influences of all band members.
