Invisible Poet Kings
The debut CD of Invisible Poet Kings is a truly impressive piece of work. It is the brainchild of head Poet King, Barry Keenan, a Boston transplant, who wrote and produced this outstanding collection of 12 wonderful songs. Keenan, now a Los Angeles based recording producer, engineer, songwriter and arranger, is not only the primary recording engineer on this CD, but also showcases his immense musical talent and versatility by playing most of the instruments. Barry's distinctive lead vocal style is a prominent feature of all Poet King songs, as is his beautiful backgrond harmonies. The other important musical contributors to this project include drummer John Laques, bassist Billy Ruffino, brother's Colin Mitchell (bass/vocals} and Matt Mitchell (guitar/vocals}, and Alberto 'Tico' Grimaldi (drums). The inticate collage that is the 'sound' of Invisible Poet Kings is not easily categorized, but it is always easily recognized! The music is a rich kaliedoscope of inventive pop and hard driving rock, of urban folk, and electronic magic woven around an insightful depth of lyrical content touching on every aspect of the human condition. The CD features 'Clean White Shirt', an ethereal song of lost innocence, the haunting ballad 'There's No Love', and 'Only The Echo Came Back', an uplifting yet enigmatic song about struggle and redemption. Barry Keenan is presently hard at work putting the finishing touches on his next CD....a truly spectacular project called 'My Brain.' It will be released very soon...so watch for it!
