'Ever get the notion you're witnessing the beginning of something big? Goosebumps on the arms, the hairs on your neck standing to attention? Well I had all those symptoms when I went to see IZIT-U perform at the Pop Bar In Soho last night. The energetic London based funky rock pop quintet played a memorable 30 minute set giving fans and friends a taste of the big time... this kind of music is for both sides of your brain, miss a bit you miss it all.' Review from Mo Black, Journalist 'Izit-U came on & did what it said on the can! Nadine is a cool front woman with a voice that is powerful & controlled. The songs were just the right mix of rock with underlying tones of soul & pop. More than that, she got the crowd on side right from the start & even managed to plug the new album in a fun way. We couldn't let them go before they'd done an encore for us. They will be back...' Review From Pop Bar, Soho, London The 5 members of IZIT-U all share the same ambition; to create and play music which expresses their feelings and satisfies their musicality to as many people possible, wanting to share with the general public the sound in their collective creative brain. Through chance, circumstance and friendship the band's paths crossed in late 2005 and in early 2006 vocalist and songwriter Nadine Smith called together this carefully selected group of musicians whom she felt would appreciate and love the songs as much as herself. As the sound grew with the bands creative input, the results were exciting to say the least, and a band was formed among friends of a strong, dedicated, team of musicians, ready to show the world what they have to offer. As individuals the band had been gigging and doing sessions on the Central and West London scene. Nadine Smith has gained a lot of experience working as a professional singer, songwriter and vocal coach, performing and recording extensively in London and Dublin, using her diverse range of vocal styles from rock, jazz, to Opera. It was on the gigging circuit that Nadine met Guitarist Dan Bell and Bassist Oli Lee, both from South Dorset where they had gigged together in various bands. They came to study music and play in a number of projects including singer/ songwriters and covers bands, one of which had in the line up Keyboard Player Jake Bowser. Jake moved from Coventry in 2005 to work and study in London. Trained in jazz, Jake decided to pursue his love of rock music when he heard Nadine's songs and realized the musical connection he had with the band. Drummer Aidan Torode came to London to gig extensively and study a course in contemporary music. Aidan and Nadine shared a number of classes together at college, and became good friends through their mutual respect for one another as musicians. And so they all joined forces, and continue to write, record and gig together, now armed with their debut album, Fish.
