Have You Heard?
J Scott grew up in beautiful Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. When not playing hockey, he was probably in the basement listening to his mother's band reherse for their next gig. He relocated to Scottsdale, Arizona at the age of seventeen. Although surrounded by music growing up, he didn't start playing until the age of nineteen, when his parents presented him a 'Les Paul Custom' for his birthday. Still playing a Les Paul Custom (not that one), and now becoming more proficient on the keyboards, he has released his debut CD entitled 'Have You Heard'. Scott's greatest influence would be that of guitartist/poet extraordinaire Phil Keaggy. 'I first discovered Phil's music in the early 80's.When 'Getting Closer' came out, the song 'Sounds' knocked me out! 'The Wind and The Wheat' has become my 'Deep Meditation' music!' says Scott. Also a favorite,Russ Freeman of rippington fame. 'Of course, those guys are on another level, and I'm not trying to be them. I believe we all have our own gift - I'm just glad God gave those guys such awesome music to share with the rest of us!'laughs Scott.
