Frances & Friends
Frances and friends frances and friends is exactly what it sounds like.. Everything you will hear on this album is enhanced by my friends. The writers are: judy wise, pam cummens, pat slatton and me (frances v. Long). The singers are: ruth duncan, ron gray, mark suitts, duke martin, and andrea defore. The arrangements are by my good friends at john hall's studio in northport, al. This album has a variety of genre. There are 5 christian pop songs, 1 christian rock, 2 country gospel and 2 southern gospel. 'look at me' is christian pop. Ruth duncan singing this beautiful song will give you a special thrill. She sings with so much feeling. 'right side up'.. Ron gray does and excellent job and so does his harmony team... Ruth duncan and john hall who is responsible for the bass voice. 'feeling so good'.. Rock.. Mark suitts sings his heart out.. If you like rock you'll love it. 'there's someone'.. Pop.. Duke martin is the singer. Sounds like perry como. You'll enjoy his smoothe delivery an the interesting jazz type arrangement. 'walk with me jesus'.. Southern gospel.. Ruth duncan does it again. This song has 6/8 time. Is unusual.. Ruth sings three parts. Her harmony is excellent so is the song. 'because he stands by me'.. Country gospel.. Ron gray seems to enjoy this type of song more than others. This is a solid gospel song with a definite country sound. 'one life'.. Pop.. What an exceptional song. The melody and lyrics are both strong.. Andrea defore is the perfect singer for this song. Nobody else cound sing it the way she does. 'you wanta go to heaven'.. Pop.. With a jazz flavor. Ron gray sings this with a perfect medium tempo. It's a bit unusual for a christian song but something everyone will enjoy. 'he gave me you'.. Pop.. One of the last songs i wrote with pat slatton. She could take any lyric or melody and make them perfect. This song was one of our best. I know she would be thrilled with this expert arrangement. 'back on track'.. Country gospel.. The train whistle gets you off on the right track from the beginning. It's very fast but then so is the train that takes you up to heaven. If we stay alert we won't miss it.
