From Africa with Love
JACO Songwriter, Lead/Rhythm guitar, and vocals. Born in Georgetown, Guyana, Patrick Roberts studied classical piano, under the tutelage of his parents, from the age of ten. Throughout his teenage years he played some of the local bands, such as The Gradutes, in Georgetown, until the age of 20, when he migrated to the U.S.A. After a two-year stint, in Germany, in the United States Army, Jaco returned to the Bronx where he resumed playing in bands such as Eddy Young and the Dynamites, and the Reckless Breed. It was with the Reckless Breed that he began touring with reggae artists such as Dennis Brown, Culture, and Burning Spear. During the 80's he began traveling back and forth to London where he recorded with The Chosen Few, Gregory Isaacs, and B.B. Ceaton of the Gay Lads. It was this exposure that led him to realize his talent for writing songs and the creation of his first album on CD, Believer in Love. From Africa With Love is JACO's second CD.
