JAMES LEGERE James Legere was born and rasied in rural, eastern Connecticut, where music, ranging from classical to country, filled the air of his childhood home. During his late teens and early twenties, James performed in rock and country bands in southern New England. While searching for a piano player for one of his bands, he met and performed with a group of classically-trained vocalists, who encouraged him to further develop his craft and pursue a career in musical theatre. James trained with Walter Kamens in Hartford, CT, and performed with a number of theatre groups, including: The Connecticut Opera Company The Hartford Stage Company The Gilbert and Sullivan Theater Company The Hartford Center for Bel Canto Opera (under the direction of Josephine Graziano) Sarach Caldwell and Associates James performed the roles of Sir Lancelot in Learner and Lowe's Camelot, and Curley in Rogers and Hammerstein's Oklahoma. He also performed as a soloist in various venues throughout southern New England. After taking a ten-year break to support and raise his family, James moved to Los Angeles, California, where he returned to the stage. He has developed an extensive repetoir and is equally 'at home' performing for dinner theatres, at fund raisers, private parties and nightclubs. The disc features James singing a collection of favorite 'classics' of musical theatre and propular American song.
