Honor the Spirits
Native Americans like all tribal cultures did not have a written language and passed stories and legends down through songs and stories. It was not until the arrival of the Europeans that many of these stories were recorded thus allowing more people to share and or learn from them. Though many stories have survived, many more have not making any collection valuable and making this type of CD truly unique as very few spoken recordings of these stories exist. "An accurate portrayal of history is important to me for future generations" James is quoted in a Detroit News article about his works. In this CD James uses his talents and skills guided by his Ojibwa ancestors in sharing stories and legends from tribes in North America. Many have not been read or heard in almost a century. Accompanying these stories are sounds of nature and solo instrumental performances by Mr. Taylor. "I am fortunate to have my elders support on this project and I look forward to the next project the Creator sets me on" A couple of these has made it in the top 100 songs played on Pow-wow.com. 15% of all annual sales are donated to the Michigan Wildlife Fund.
