On Sacred Ground
Jason Pyles's first album, "Things to Come" (2002), is a contemporary, Christian-rock CD that was recorded with a full band. "On Sacred Ground" (2006), his newest release, is what he calls "a songwriter's album." The new CD has 14 mellow tracks recorded with a singular vocal part, a guitar, piano (or both), and a solitary bass guitar played by his friend, Eric Fichtner. "On Sacred Ground" was recorded bare-bones so the music wouldn't interfere with the lyrics that tell sacred stories with every song, some religious and historical, but most are autobiographical.
