Jeff Alkire, Saxophone Jeff has performed all over the US, Japan, Latin America, the Caribbean and Canada with Ray Charles, Joe Farrell, Art Lande, Charlie Haden, Terry Gibbs and John Lee Hooker. His ability to work in many stylistic idioms has created a musical palette ranging from the straight ahead compositions captured in this most recent compilation of tunes to soulful balladeering, the blues and world music. Jeff's compositions have been used in conjunction with animated film, dance, performance art and poetry. Jeff is currently living in Sacramento CA. Larry Koonse, Guitar Larry has performed or recorded with singers Cleo Laine and Mel Tormé, saxophonists Lee Konitz, Warne Marsh and Bob Sheppard, clarinetist Eddie Daniels, pianists Jimmy Rowles and Terry Trotter, bassists Charlie Haden and Herbie Lewis, drummer Billy Higgins, trombonist Bob Brookmeyer, harmonica master Toots Thielemanns and many others. At the invitation of Nelson Mandela and UNICEF, he travelled to South Africa to perform for the first annual SAMIX festival with the Steve Houghton Quintet. He has also been a featured soloist with the L.A. Philharmonic, Philadelphia Orchestra, the Boston Pops and other orchestras throughout the United States, Asia, Australia and New Zealand. Larry is currently a faculty member at the California Institute of the Arts. Derek 'Oles' Oleszkiewicz, Bass Since coming to the US from Poland in 1988, Derek has rapidly become one of the most sought after bassists on the West Coast. He has worked with such jazz luminaries as James Newton, Kei Akagi, James Carney, Joe Lovano, Ravi Coltrane, Alice Coltrane, Scott Hamilton, Art Farmer, Gerry Gibbs, Bob Brookmeyer, George Lewis, Billy Childs, Joe LaBarbera, Larance Marable and Tootie Heath. Oles appears on over 30 recordings as a sideman or co-leader and has performed throughout America and Europe. He also teaches in the jazz program at the California Institute of the Arts. Lorca Hart, Drums Lorca most recently recorded with pianist Mulgrew Miller as well as with David Pike. He currently plays with Anthony Wilson regularly in the Los Angeles area. He has also performed with Billy Childs, actor-musician Jeff Goldblum and many others. Benny Lackner, Piano (CD cameo performance) Originally from Germany, Benny now lives in New York where he composes music and performs at Birdland and other bastions of jazz.
